Helicopter Eela

Starring: Kajol, Neha Dhupia, Riddhi Sen, Zakir Hussain

Genre: Comedy/ Drama

This was on my wish list ever since the movie had its trailer launched. I had the privilege to watch it in my free time. It explores the phenomenon called helicopter parenting. Well, helicopter parenting is a phenomenon where you as a parent just pay too much attention to a child’s problems. It is a style of parenting which kind of makes the child suffocate in a relation as a family.

The story revolves around a single mother called Eela and her son Vivaan. Eela was an aspiring singer/model who left everything . She did that so because her husband abandons her. Now she only focuses on every move made by her son. This leaves her son feeling irritated as he feels his space is being violated. He tries to explain it to her but she does end up interfering a way lot.

This leads to a huge argument between the two. So does the mother-son relationship improve or does it go down the drain? Watch the movie to find out. The movie was a flop at the box office but frankly speaking I loved the movie.

It explores the bond shared between the mother and a son. I loved the performances of Riddhi Sen and Neha Dhupia. Kajol was also great but these two steal the show. So do watch it for these two. Its a fine watch. Do tell me about your experiences in the comments section.
