The Perfect wife

Author: Blake Pierce

Genre: Psychological Thriller

” Suspense arises naturally from good writing ; its not a spice to be added separately.”

Leigh Michaels

I had lost the habit of reading books . As a result I felt something amiss in my life. So to fill the void, I started to read books again without a bias in my mind. We as a reader do tend to have a lot of bias regarding a certain book . We are very specific that we enjoy a particular genre or we may not enjoy a particular genre. I won’t put myself into that category but yes I do have some doubts in my mind before I start reading . Then as I start reading, I start engaging with the book and ultimately end up enjoying it.

So presenting to you my latest pick- The Perfect Wife. I am a big fan of thrillers. The reason being the suspense which hooks a reader till the end along with the twists and turns in the story. I mean who does not enjoy that in a book ?

Well now coming to the story, Jessie and Kyle are a married couple who have been married for 10 years. Jessie is a psychology student who aspires to be a criminal profiler. While her husband Kyle works to establish contacts with high profile people for his business. They seem to be a match made in heaven with both having love for each other. They shift from a Los Angeles apartment to a Westport Mansion.

However Jessie finds something strange about her new surroundings . Also she starts questioning everything around her as the darkest secrets start unraveling. It becomes even murkier when she has a miscarriage and is involved in a murder. So what exactly led to things being this murkier? Will Jessie be able to get to the bottom of the strange things happening around her?Or will she find herself in a much bigger trap? Read the book to find out.

The book is a fast paced one. You actually do not find a dull moment in the book . Also the interesting plot and the twists and turns make it an interesting read. At times the story might feel out of the place but the author has made a pretty good effort to interlink the subplots. So overall it is a good read.

Sydney Pollock
