This is the final post of the Freedom month special. Just like the previous two, this one deals with people in uniform. You guys might be thinking that this girl is obsessed with people in uniform. But that is not the case. It is just that these people never get the due respect which they deserve even after doing so much for our respective countries. So, I thought why not pay them tribute on such a special occasion?Believe me, from now on I have decided to dedicate the month of August to the people of uniform every year. By taking this step, I am sure I will be able to give them the respect due to them. What will you do to show your support to the people in uniform ? Please let me know your thoughts in the comments section. Would surely love to hear it from you guys.
So, presenting to you my latest pick in the fabulous world of movies- a story which is inspired by a true event, a story which went on to create a historic moment in India. A moment which reiterated the words of former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, “Unless India stands up to the world. no one will respect us. In this world, fear has no place. Only strength respects strength.” Well, the movie which I am talking about is Parmanu- the story of Pokhran.
Story line: Parmanu recounts the events which led to India’s first nuclear test being conducted. In 1995, Ashwat Raina suggests the ministers to perform a retaliatory test in response to the recent nuclear missile tests by China. However, he is ridiculed by everyone. But the Prime Minister Office secretary asks him to keep his plan brief. But India’s first nuclear test ends up in a failure . Ashwat is made a scapegoat and asked to resign.
In 1998, he is approached again by the new Prime Minister Office secretary who questions the failure. Ashwat explains the reason for the same. The new secretary after hearing his side, decides to give him a second chance. Will Ashwat be able to prove himself ? Are there any difficulties he faces in the journey ? Watch the movie to find out the answers for the same.
Scrutiny: This movie tries to recreate the scenario by which India conducted its first nuclear test. The movie explores the struggles faced by Ashwat and his team to perform the tests. Coming to what I liked about the movie-
- Superb acting by the lead actor John Abraham. Believe me, he is actually one of the most under rated actors in the industry, Initially, he did not make great choices ; but now he ensures that he manages to impress.
- The story line though a little bit of masala was added, but the research undertaken is great. So, kudos to the screenwriters and scriptwriters. It is because of themthat the movie has a great story.
- Foot tapping music– This movie has every genre from the inspiring to the heartbreaking to ones which you can listening to on loop.
- The tenacity and determination shown by the lead character despite facing a number of challenges.
- The beautiful visuals in and around Pokhran. Believe me, after watching the movie I had Pokhran added to my travel list.
The negatives – I could not find any such . Though I did find the movie a little over the top at some places.
The sentiment: This one is also a must watch . Watch it for the spectacular performance of John Abraham. Watch it for the fictional yet realistic recreation of one of the most historic moments. Watch it for showing your mark of respect towards people in uniform. Watch it for your dose of motivation. Hope you guys to enjoy it. Would love to hear from you about the same.
