Hope you all are back in the grinding mode. These 2.5 years of pandemic made us way too comfortable in our daily lives; though for most of them it was a horrible nightmare as well. But now it seems that things are beginning to return to normal. This is surely a great piece of news for all of us. What all crises we humans have had to endure. Yet, each and every time we have always emerged victorious and become more stronger.
Well, lets cut the musings of the achievements of mankind short and get straight to our latest pick of the week- a book. This week’s pick is called “The Mafia Queens of Mumbai“. Written by a former investigative journalist turned author, this book narrates the chronicles of 13 such women who were involved in the criminal activities in the city and gave a wild goose chase to the police. Who said that only men were capable of performing crimes? After reading this book your perception towards women will change completely. This is because women too proved their mettle in this field by carrying out the most heinous crimes either by themselves or with the help of fellow gangsters counterparts. Be it the famous Jenabai from whom gangsters sought advice or the vengeful Ashraf Khan who wanted to avenge her husband’s death. Each story is unique and how they entered the world of crime is also an interesting tale. Did these women continue to break the law or did they give up on their bad habits to reform themselves ? Do read the book to know the answers.
Analysis: This book chronicles the life of 13 such women who made their way to the top in the world of underworld. Each lady had a different objective to achieve and they used crime as their way to reach the ends.
