• Well, wishing all my readers and subscribers a belated Happy New Year (though technically New Year lasts for a week. So, I am just in time :P). Since , its the new Year week, we all might have set some set New Year plans . So, what are your New Year plans? And are you implementing it or are you on the verge of breaking them off(this does happen to a lot of us isn’t it ?). If you are on the verge of breaking them off, please don’t give up on them. The reason is it takes a lot of thinking to make those resolutions. So, one does need to take some efforts to follow up the same. And isn’t everything in life hard work? Especially the things which we want in the long term. Change is painful but if we can push through the resistance, we can become a great version of ourselves. So, what can be done so that we can crush our goals and feel better about ourselves. Maybe the following points will be able to encourage you to not give up on the things which you plan to do this year in the form of goals and will be able to crush them and maybe take up more goals as well.

    1. Have a strong will power. If you want to have something, you get the work done irrespective of your emotions. After all, a no excuse attitude is what will get the work done.
    2. Be compassionate with yourself: We human beings have the tendency to be critical with ourselves especially if we belong to the disciplined category and do not realize our goals. What do we do ?We tend to self-criticize ourselves. But what if we think of it this way that it is okay to slip once in a while we can start again. After all self love is the best love one can ever to oneself.
    3. Develop a growth mindset: We all are scared of rejections and failures . But what if we learn to think that failures are a stepping stone to success and rejections are better redirections? This change in thinking process will help us to be a better version and help us to fight procrastination and help us be a better version of ourselves.
    4. Prioritize what matters : We tend to have a lot of distractions around us. So, eat the frog and get your priorities clear. One way of doing this can be planning the day before so that you do not have to rush things.
    5. Try splitting your big goals into small ones: Often we tend to take a lot on our plates and then start feeling disappointed or overwhelmed when things do not go our way. Instead try to break your big goals into small ones and be consistent with it. You should be able to see good results.
    6. Celebrate small wins: When you achieve a certain milestone, it is important for you to celebrate that win . This helps to keep us motivated as we look forward to achieving the next milestone.
    7. Stop looking for shortcuts: It takes patience and hard work. So, be willing to put in the grind. After all, what separates an extraordinary person from the ordinary person is that little extra.
    8. Be authentic: Identify your values and stick to them. Even though it means to hurt others, it is completely okay as long as you are being your true self. After all you cannot please everyone and it is okay not to please everyone.

I can go on but then I do not want to sound as if I am some expert on life. This is because even I learn my lessons the hard way or by lots of trials and errors. However, if you do have any more tips which can help to better oneself, do feel free to share your views on the same in the comments section. Your voice and feedback matters to .

So, I am hoping that you will make your 2025 a year full of achievements and a lot of productivity as well along with a year where you finally begin to be your best version if you have not begun to be. You will be able to kick out procrastination, laziness and get the courage to pursue whatever sets your soul on fire. Wishing you a year of lots of growth and positivity and a lot of good habits.

  • Recently, the city celebrated the 16th anniversary of a horrendous incident which had rocked the very foundations of the city. No matter what, the city can never forget the atrocities committed on it as it brought the city which never stops and sleeps to a standstill for three days. But, Mumbai even though was shaken to the core, emerged resilient after the attacks. As, a person who has been a resident of the city since a lot of years, the city has always offered a lot of lessons. Call me biased, but if I am asked what my favourite city is , the answer to it will always be Mumbai. Not that I am against other cities, though I have had the experience of living in a few. But, Mumbai as a city has a lot of life lessons to offer. Read on to find out more what the city of dreams has taught me.

    1. If you are a person who dreams big, welcome to the city of dreams. This is the city which will teach you to convert your dreams into reality. Though, a word of caution- it will take a lot of sweat and toil. But if you are willing to pay the cost, then I don’t think that should matter isn’t it?
    2. You will never die hungry thanks to the generous nature of the city. The city has food for every type of person. Just remember to hustle a bit and you will never die hungry.
    3. Teaches us to be hopeful and resilient- after all this city has faced it all. Be it the bombings, the floods , the mafia whatever the city faces it and then bounces back at a great speed back. After all, the lesson that the world lives on hope is best learnt from the city of dreams.
    4. Nothing is impossible- If you can dream it, you can create it is a motto that Mumbaikars firmly believe in . The word impossible does not exist in the dictionary of Mumbaikars. We will take time but we will eventually reach there.Goo
    5. Good things come unexpectedly- This is a process that I am trying to internalize in a hard manner. The only thing that matters is the ability to never ever give up and give your best efforts. One day, your efforts will come to fruition.
    6. Diversity can coexist-Mumbai is a city which beautifully welcomes everyone with open hands. This is a city which welcomes new cultures and mindsets.
    7. Be patient about things that matter-Mumbai has a traffic which is maddening in nature. But it also teaches you a very valuable life lesson that you should always be patient about things that matter. You eventually reach there with persistent efforts.
    8. Size of the dreams do not matter- As long as you see others hustling, that should not prevent you to see and try fulfilling dreams of any size. Be it owning a house or making it big as a movie star or a business tycoon or any other dream, the city accommodates dreams of all sizes.
    9. Prepares you for anything and everything- Mumbai is a city that prepares you for any experience in life. It is said if you learn to survive in Mumbai, you can survive anywhere.

These are the life lessons which the city of dreams has taught me . Are there any other lessons which the City of dreams has taught you? Do tell me about your insights in the comments section. I would love to hear about the same from you.

    Yeh hai Mumbai meri jaan….

  • “Nothing is impossible that one desires with an indomitable will.”

    -Henrik Ibsen

Starring: Shreyas Talpade, Anjali Patil,Ashish Vidyarthi, Parambrata Chatterjee, Chaya Kadam, Prasad Oak, Arif Zakaria

    Directed By: JayPrasad Desai

    Genre: Sports/Drama

Generally, I am a person who finds the game of cricket as waste of time, money, energy and resources. However, I recently listened to a song on YouTube and fell in love with it. That song piqued my curiosity to find out more; believe me, it was a great decision . Read on to find out more about the decision I took .

Story-line: Some people just refuse to give up. For them, it doesn’t matter how old they are. As long as they possess a fighting spirit and an ability not to give up, they are willing to give it all. This week’s pick revolves around one such person whose indomitable spirit defied all the physical barriers. Kaun Pravin Tambe? tells us the story of Pravin Tambe, a man who was passionate about making his debut at Ranji that age did not defy him. At a time, when most of the cricketers think of retiring, this man was hellbent on making what was a dream that he had seen since his childhood a reality. Time did test him a lot of times. He suffered a lot of frustrations and setbacks. But eventually, God did give him a platform which was way beyond his imagination – he made his debut as a bowler at the IPL and the rest as they say was history. But was the journey to fulfil his dream an easy one ? Did people back him or write him off?

Scrutiny: This is an inspiring tale about a fighter who simply refused to give up despite whatever curve balls life threw at him. After all, one needs to be passionate about the dreams one needs to fulfill. And maybe that is what drives some people to stretch their limits irrespective of whatever situations life throws at them. This movie teaches a lot of lessons which one can really apply in his or her life.

The very first lesson it teaches is that never ever give up . This is because dreams do come true if you fight for them. One just needs to work relentlessly towards them. The second lesson it teaches us that if you have the right mindset, age is just a number. There is nothing impossible in this world. One just needs to have the required drive, patience and the belief that one will achieve the end goal irrespective of whatever situations life throws. Thirdly, a lot of people are going to write you off either because they do not have that belief in you or because they are intimidated by the potential one has. One just needs to be true to his or her work and not care about what others think. People are going to test your patience, resilience and a lot of times self-respect. But as long as you are true to yourself and your values, be rest assured of the fact that no one in this world can bring you down. A lot of times we grapple with self-doubt, but if we let our self-doubt take over us, it is always game over for us.

Shreyas Talpade shines as the main protagonist. He is an actor whose potential I personally feel is underutilized. He is an actor who when given good roles shines. So, I personally feel that the directors

The Sentiment:Do watch this beautiful biopic as it has a lot of life lessons to offer. This might be very handy especially if you are suffering from lack of motivation or are doubtful about what life has to offer, maybe this will offer you some great insights about how to deal with it.
