” Morality may consist solely in the courage of making a choice.”

    Leon Blum

A good movie is always a great source of time pass. This is true especially if you are watching movies which are timeless classics. I happened to watch one such timeless classic upon my father’s recommendation. Yes I do take in people’s recommendations as well. So, if you have any recommendations you want me to review upon feel free to comment in the comments section. So, it so happened that I and my father were enacting a few dialogues from the movie with such conviction that we surely would have won some awards for the same:p Okay maybe I am exaggerating but those interesting dialogue delivery sessions actually made me watch the movie.

So, ladies and gentlemen presenting to you my latest pick in the awesome world of movies-Deewar.

Story line: The movie recounts the story of two brothers Ravi and Vijay Verma who struggle to survive in the slums. But eventually as time progresses, they find themselves on opposing sides of law. A wall has sprung up between the two brothers as they are drawn apart by fate and circumstances in a time of socio- political turmoil. One becomes a leading figure in the underworld. While on the other hand the other brother becomes a police inspector. One has all the materialistic possessions at his disposal. While on the other hand, the other brother has has his ethics and morality. In the battle between morality and immorality who emerges victorious? Does that victory make sense or is there any other emotion involved? Watch the movie to find the answers to these questions.

Scrutiny: The movie tries to explore how fate and circumstances in a time of socio- political turmoil can force two people to adopt different paths. The movie portrays this beautifully in the form of two brothers standing at the opposite ends of the law. The positives of the movie-1. Fantastic story line. Credit goes for this goes to the fantastic script writing by Javed Akhtar Sir and Salim Khan sir. 2. Impeccable histrionics by the lead actors. This includes Bacchan sir’s criminal act, Shashi Kapoor sir’s Inspector Ravi Verma act and obviously who can forget the iconic Maa of the movie Nirupa Roy? 3. Even the songs are great in this movie.

The negatives – The cuss words used which kind of blends in the script but makes you feel awkward.

The sentiment : This one is definitely worth giving a watch. The gripping story line, the histrionics by the lead actors, the action scenes makes it a complete package for movie lovers. Also , the screen play written by the famous screenwriter duo Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan sir leaves you with some great dialogues and memories. So do give the movie a watch and do share your favourite memories from the movie in the comments section. Waiting for your lovely feedback.

  • Time flies. It feels like yesterday when I think of the moment I hit the publish button in my Word press blog. Today is the day exactly 3 years ago, The Expression Hub originally Books and Movies was born. It was a moment wherein a plethora of emotions was experienced by me. Being a private person the decision of putting myself in the public arena was not easy. Also, the apprehensions of being judged and criticized by others was holding me back. But I decided to risk it all. I decided to come out of my comfort zone and tackle my fears.

I would like to reflect my journey so far into three parts- Challenges, Learning and Success.

Success: Though I have not reached great heights, but for me blogging for 3 years is a huge milestone. A milestone I would like to surpass by creating new highs. This is because 80% of the blogs don’t cross the time duration of 3 months. My blog would have been one of these had I not been guided by my inner voice to pursue it from time to to time. The reason why most blogs fail to cross the 3 month line is not because they lack content. But what majority of us lack is the passion for making things work. Even big businesses start small. But what makes them a household name is their persistence and passion over the years. A lesson which I learnt the hard way but a lesson which was worth learning . Also this lesson made me have a feeling of accountability and responsibility towards my readers and ever growing family. So, a big thank you to all my readers and family for always keeping me on my toes.

Learning: Blogging is no doubt a never ending process. It definitely makes you explore your skills. But to improve yourself, you have to keep on learning and never stop. After all it is said aptly, ” the moment we stop learning , we stop growing.” So, in this journey of three years, my biggest takeaway is that of being consistent. Believe me adhering to deadlines can be a very adrenaline rushing process. This is because it just keeps on your toes. Also the honest feedback given by your readers makes you keep upping your game. This is because you need to keep on coming up with something new to keep your community engaged.

Challenges: Blogging is not a cakewalk or time pass as many assume. It takes a whole lot of your energy to run the show. It is all about blood and sweat. It is about deciding in advance, researching, creating content, optimizing it for SEO and then finally promoting it on social media.

The message: But if you are truly passionate about what you do, you will always find a way to do it. Don’t let the naysayers discourage you or affect you. Instead try to find something positive in it as well. Also, never let your self doubt hinder your beautiful journey. As Steve Jobs has said aptly, ” The journey is the reward.” I do hope that with your love and motivation I will be able to produce great content in the years to come by and we keep growing as a family.

    Yours lovingly,
    Roshani Patil

    Happy birthday Expression Hub!!

” Because the greatest part of a a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination . Its all the wild stuff that happens along the way.”

    Emma Chase

Since the early times of human civilization, man has been a great traveler. He has traveled to different places using different means of transport. Also he used to travel for different purposes like for instance to help people discover themselves , to create meaningful relationships, to get a perspective and so on. It is because man traveled to different places that we know a great deal about the history, heritage and culture of a place. So, if you love traveling and do have a travel story to share, feel free to share it in the comments section below.

Well, the reason I am talking about traveling is because my current pick is based on the same theme. So, my dear people in the audience presenting to you my latest pick in the fantastic world of web series- Tripling.

Synopsis: The story revolves around three siblings named Chandan, Chanchal and Chitvan Sharma. Chandan is an NRI who has returned home after his marriage failed and he lost his job. He decides to meet Chitvan, a DJ by profession who has another set of problems in his life to deal with. After the two meet, they decide to pick up Chanchal who is a member of the royalty but has her life messed up too. In order to come up with a solution to the problems they are facing, they decide to undertake a road trip. So, do their road trip help help them solve their problems?Or do they get involved in other problems? Do they bond well or end up bickering ? What are the lessons learnt as they undertake this trip? Watch the web series to find out the answers.

Assessment: The web series is a wonderful take upon how traveling helps to rediscover a person. It helps us realize how traveling helps to open up our minds. And as Frank Zappa has said it aptly, “A mind is like a parachute . It works best when it is open,”

The positives of the show- 1. Beautiful story line which makes you experience positive vibes only. 2. Wonderful histrionics by the lead actors. Though for me it was the role of Chitvan portrayed by Amol Parashar which was the show stealer. 3. The beautiful dresses worn by Maanvi Gagroo. Whosoever has designed them has done a fantastic job. Can I borrow the designer please?4. The beautiful cinematography undertaken to capture the picturesque locations is a treat to eyes.

The negatives of the show- The cuss words used in the script. Though it kind of blends well in the script, yet you kind of feel awkward at times when used freely.

The view: The show is a must watch by every web series lover. It is a refreshing take on a journey undertaken by road. Also, while watching the show, you feel as if you are part of the show. This is the amount of resonance you feel with the actors. There is nothing you will not like about the show. So do give it a watch and share your experiences in the comments section.
