” A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.”

    Gloria Steinem

Gender Equality is a pretty trending topic since the Suffragette movement took place. Women have stepped into the shoes of men and achieved great heights in their respective fields. Even though they are scaling new heights, yet they have to face a lot of problems like disparity in pay, sexual harassment etc. Despite the struggles faced by women , there are some men who feel that women have it easy and are pretty privileged.

This is what is explored in the pick of the week- a web series called Man’s World. The story revolves around a man called Kiran who feels women are always complaining. One day out of frustration, he asks for a role reversal i.e. men should take place of women and vice versa. His wish gets granted to his surprise . Though he is a man by nature, but he and other men have to live like women . That is when he realizes that his thoughts on women having it easy were completely wrong . He prays for living a normal life i.e he wants to be a man again. But does his life return back to normal? If not what other insights does he get? Do watch it to find out.

The web series is an interesting take on the concept of gender equality. Years of conditioning and the distinction between the roles played by a male and a female are reasons behind the glaring gap. Articles , books, movements have been taken out to highlight the issue of gender inequality . Even the sustainable goals on United Nations has gender equality as one of its objectives. We can make the world a better place if we realize the importance a man or a woman play in each other’s lives. We might have taken our steps towards it, but we still have a long way to go. So, this one is highly recommended by me . The reason is because it really provides some food for thought. That I guess is a feature of a good pick. Let it be a book, a movie or a web series. Take your time out for this one and do share your experiences with me . Waiting for your lovely comments and feedback as always.

The book is full of twists and turns which will keep the readers on hook . This book is a complete delight for the lovers of genre. So, do go and grab your copy. Waiting for your lovely feedback as usual.

I made the decision to update my blog on a regular basis. This is because I wanted to utilize my time productively. For a blogger, it is very important that he/ she remain consistent. This actually applies to all fields to be frank. It is also important because it shows how passionate a person is about his/ her work and ensures a certain amount of discipline. After all ,one has to be passionate and disciplined if one has to enjoy the fruits of the so called work he/ she does. Right guys?

Thus, presenting you the movie which I caught this week- Mission Mangal. This movie is a fictional take on India’s Mars Orbiter Mission (MoM) or as we Indians know it the Mangal Yaan. It pays a tribute to the brains who worked behind this project.

The movie begins with India failing the launch of GSLV-F06 in 2010. Rakesh Dhawan takes the blame for the mistake made by his fellow colleague Project Director Tara Shinde. Thus as a punishment, he is relocated to work on the Mangal Yaan project. The Mangal Yaan or the MoM( Mars Orbiter Mission) is said to be an impossible project because of a low budget. Another problem is the satellite to carry the MoM. But with the application of home science and some motivation thrown around, the team which is said to be a novice starts working on the project. Will the efforts undertaken by Rakesh, Tara and his team pay off? Do they reach the desired destination- the planet of Mars? This is for you to find out.

Well coming to the analysis part, the movie is an interesting take on the MoM mission. Both Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan have portrayed their roles nicely. Even the other actors have done a great job. The only thing which was not relatable at all was the dance scientists do to get motivated. But since its a fictional take so guess that much creative freedom is permissible. Overall a good watch to learn some physics as well as some lessons of life. Do go and watch it. Waiting for your lovely comments as usual.
